Modern Slavery

1. Purpose

The Medics Lodge is committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and throughout our supply chains. We uphold the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and expect the same high standards from everyone we work with.

We recognise that modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It can take many forms, including slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking — all of which are strictly prohibited.

2. Our Commitment

We are committed to:

  • Acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.
  • Implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery does not occur in our operations or supply chains.
  • Being transparent in our approach, consistent with our disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

3. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • All employees (permanent, temporary, and agency staff).
  • Trainers, assessors, and consultants engaged by The Medics Lodge
  • Suppliers, contractors, and business partners working on our behalf.

4. Our Practices and Supply Chains

As a healthcare training provider, we primarily operate within the United Kingdom and work with reputable organisations to supply training venues, materials, and administrative services.

We expect all suppliers and partners to share our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and:

  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding employment and labour.
  • Provide safe and fair working conditions.
  • Ensure that all work is voluntary and that workers are free to leave employment at any time with reasonable notice.

5. Risk Assessment and Due Diligence

We review our suppliers and service providers to identify potential risks related to modern slavery.
Our due diligence processes may include:

  • Assessing the risk profile of new suppliers and contractors.
  • Requiring suppliers to confirm compliance with the Modern Slavery Act.
  • Investigating any concerns raised by employees, partners, or the public.

Where higher risk is identified, we take appropriate action which may include audits, additional monitoring, or termination of contracts

6. Reporting Concerns

We encourage anyone with concerns about potential modern slavery within our business or supply chains to report them immediately.

Reports can be made confidentially to our team at comms@medicslodge.com

All concerns will be taken seriously, investigated promptly, and handled sensitively. There will be no detrimental treatment of anyone who raises a genuine concern.

7. Training and Awareness

We provide appropriate training to staff and associates to raise awareness of modern slavery risks and how to identify and report them. Managers and those involved in procurement are given additional guidance on conducting due diligence and ethical sourcing.

8. Monitoring and Review

We regularly review this policy and our procedures to ensure their effectiveness and compliance with legislation.
This policy is reviewed annually and updated as needed to reflect changes in law or our business operations.

9. Approval

This policy has been approved by the management team of The Medics Lodge and reflects our ongoing commitment to integrity, fairness, and ethical practice across all areas of our business.
